Via’s Stocking Stuffer: A 6-Inch DIY PC Kit

On Friday Via technology’s released what they call “ARTiGO,” a do-it-yourself kit for building a 6-inch PC based on the pico-ITX form factor. The kit contains an EPIA PX10000 Pico-ITX board with on-board 1-GHz C7 Via processor, chassis, power adapter and all essential accessories. Users will have to supply their own system memory and storage, however.

The final dimensions of the computer is 5.9 inches by 1.8 inches by 43 inches. And weighing in at 1.2 pounds. Beginning this Friday, the $300 kit will be sold at Avnet, EPROM Computer Systems, Fry’s Electronics, Logic Supply and Ma Lab/Ewiz, according to Via.
